How Do I Change My TX Registered Agent?

There are 3 main steps to changing your Texas registered agent:

1. Fill Out A Change of Agent Form

To change your registered agent in Texas, you have to file a Change of Registered Agent/Office form with the Texas Secretary of State. This is the same form you’ll use whether changing registered agents for a Texas LLC or Texas corporation.

2. Submit Your Form to the SOS

You can submit your Change of Agent form online, via fax, by mail or in person. You’ll have to include payment of $15, or $5 if filing for a nonprofit.

3. Follow Up Online

Once you’ve filed your Change of Agent form, check your business filing through the Texas Taxable Entity Search to make sure your registered agent information is accurate.
